Penis itching - what's wrong when my penis itches?

Published on 18.05.2022 11:37

Dear readers of the myLadies blog...we would like to thank you for your numerous responses and for sending us so many new questions and topics that interest you and that you would like us to research for you. Thank you very much for that!

Since your questions also included some medical questions, but we are not a Dr Sommer team and only want to answer these for you in passing, we can only deal with them roughly and give you some advice. It is better to consult a doctor who is familiar with such issues or problems. But let's move on to one of our readers' questions. Apparently several of you have already experienced this and are worried about it.

IT'S JUCKING IN THE STEP - WHAT TO DO?

First of all, relax, an itch doesn't always have to have a dramatic cause. Sometimes it just itches, but it can also be completely harmless. You should only start to worry if the itching lasts longer and the itching is severe. There can be many reasons for this. We will briefly introduce these to you, but first of all: "It's better to wash than to scratch!" You should always keep this in mind and write it behind your ears!

Why does my penis itch?

Reasons why your penis itches despite daily washing could include:

  • Sweat - this is one of the most common reasons, especially when it's warm in addition to your sports programme. Sweat in combination with high temperatures can irritate the skin and cause itching. (harmless)

  • Detergent - Detergent could also be a factor that makes your intimate area itch. The wrong detergent can cause allergic reactions, which can make you itch and you may even develop a rash. (Reddening of the skin or small pimples - harmless)

  • Fungal infection - this would definitely be a reason to see a doctor. A fungal infection on your cock is usually transmissible and can spread to the urethra. Recognisable by reddening of your foreskin and extreme itching.

  • Bacteria - you can compare it to a fungal infection because they show the same symptoms. (we advise you to see a doctor for both)

PENIS - SICKLE TONGUE, LICE AND HERPES

Now let's move on to the topics where we no longer suggest you go to the doctor, but have to send you:

  • Lice on the penis - this is also something completely new for us, at least in this region. Normally we know lice mainly from school or youth hostels, where they are found in the hair on the head. But of course, if you have a jungle downstairs, you can also get something like this. It crawls, it coos and it creeps, so it's better to shave it all off straight away and visit the nearest doctor.

  • Itchy glans - also known as balantis, is a severe inflammation of your glans. Usually on both sides of the foreskin, it can cause redness, burning and itching.

  • Herpes - everyone carries it, but not everyone breaks out. The herpes virus. It is usually found on the face, or rather around the mouth, but it can also occur in the genital area and cause severe itching and blisters. As it is transmissible and also very unappetising, we advise you to get rid of it as quickly as possible and consult a doctor immediately if it occurs.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE A JUCKING PENIS AND WHAT SHOULD I WATCH OUT FOR!

  • Orderly hygiene, better with warm water only, as shower gels can cause irritation.

  • never scratch if it itches.

  • Use olive or almond oils if it itches

  • Avoid unprotected sexual intercourse for the time being.

  • Always moisturise your penis after sex if you have overworked your little man a little.
